Villa Balmain

Liaisons Corp. produced and executed Balmain’s Miami Art Basel experience where the brand celebrated the metaverse Art Showcase of Villa Balmain, created by visual artist Alexandre Arrechea. When the artist was approached to reinterpret Pierre Balmain’s unique legacy, he envisioned a futuristic, sculptural take on the founder’s place of peace. Built on the Italian island of Elba by Architect Leonardo Ricci in the 1950s, the original VILLA BALMAIN is the synonym of a bold conversation between structural modernity and the natural beauty of the garden’s surrounding it. Under Arrechea’s vision, nature reclaims its power on the villa through an impressive gold ring-shaped honeycomb, fostering bees who pollenate precious gems from the surrounding gardens in a nod to sparkling signatures from both Monsieur Balmain and Rousteing era designs. The project culminates in four Swarovski and pearl encrusted masks set in hexagonal forms crafted in collaboration with @lito.io. Entitled “Hexagon Garden”, Arrechea’s vision was presented as part of the VILLA BALMAIN experience at Superblue Art Miami including the physical editions of the four embellished masks and their NFT counterparts minted on the #XRPLedger, alongside heritage photos graciously provided by @madparis. Guests were also invited to visit the VILLA BALMAIN in the Metaverse through an immersive VR experience with technology powered by #LITO Hi-Rnd©️ Technology.
